A beautiful sanctuary for rescued primates

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Hidden Forest Wildlife Sanctuary in KwaZulu-Natal, and it was a truly unforgettable experience! Just a short drive from Ballito or uMhlanga, this sanctuary is the perfect half-day activity, offering an up-close encounter with stunning wildlife like Squirrel Monkeys, Capuchin Monkeys, Ring-tailed Lemurs, and Ruffed Lemurs, just to name a few. The trails are serene and easy to navigate, immersing you in nature’s beauty at every step. The tour lasts for 90 minutes where you get to see the whole forest, all tours are guided which is great as you get insights and information from the experienced field guides. If you’re in the area, don’t miss the chance to explore this hidden gem. A big thank you to Vijver and the team from SASSA for organising this amazing visit! Can’t wait to come back and explore more of this beautiful sanctuary.

I would describe the tour as “A serene, beautiful and eye opening experience”
